Our Vision

Communication is an important and vital tool throughout all cultures and countries. This is one of the many reasons why we chose to use the radio as our medium to educate the community. As a staff, we at “Andikape an Aksyon” have realized that sanitary issues are a problem when dealing with epidemics in our community. It would be wrong to sit back and watch as people’s health deteriorate. Andikape an Aksyon believe that it is our duty to take action by teaching our community. In the words of JFK, don’t ask what your community can do for you, but instead ask what you can do for your community.

Our Mission

Andikape an aksyon believe every child, man and woman with disabilities deserve to have fun, an education and are entitled to the same opportunities as all other individuals. Andikape an aksyon provides physical activities, education and social opportunities to people with special needs throughout Boston, Massachusetts and Mirebalais, Haiti. We have created a supportive community, helping to build friendships, and promoting communication, education, physical and mental strength.

Our Goals

INCLUSIVE EDUCATION

Andikape an aksyon works to improve access to quality education in the lives of individuals with disabilities in Haiti. The project raises awareness of the right to education among the population that we serve, local stakeholders, and the media in addition to training teachers in inclusive practices and personalized social support methods.

SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC INCLUSION

Andikape an aksyon promotes quality of life, self-reliance and social inclusion for people with disabilities. This project includes coordinating collaboration between vendors and beneficiaries to develop personalized social support services, and strengthening participation of people with disabilities in local development and awareness efforts.
